About Us

30 years ago the Berlin Wall fell. On November 9th 1989 the iron curtain, which divided an entire continent, was suddenly no more. Even today developments in both Germany and Europe are shaped in part by the long division between east and west and the aftermath of the cold war.

We, a group of journalism students from Belgium and Germany, have been working together on a project examining the historical significance of a divided Berlin as well as the state of German society 30 years later. The cooperation between Belgian PXL University of Applied Sciences and Arts and German DEKRA Media University in Berlin made it possible for us to look at this topic from the perspective of two different countries and provide each other with suggestions and insight.

We hope you will enjoy this website as much as we enjoyed working together.
